Transformations

If data imported into TIBCO Spotfire is not in the correct format, the data can be transformed before it is loaded into the analysis.

Overview

When importing data to an analysis file in TIBCO Spotfire, whether it is the only data to be imported or if it is added to existing data, modifications of the data are sometimes required. This can be due to errors in the data or an incorrect format of the data – either because another format might be more useful or that it needs another format to be combined with other data.

Transforming Data

Therefore, it is possible to transform the data before it is loaded into TIBCO Spotfire. Columns can be added, changed or removed from the data before it is loaded into TIBCO Spotfire. The data can also be pivoted from a tall/skinny format to a short/wide format, or unpivoted from a short/wide format to a tall/skinny format.
