Deployment Structure

The Spotfire client software is distributed in disk folders corresponding to the packages making up the deployment on the Spotfire Server.

The Spotfire installer merely contains the software required to launch the application. The client must connect at least once to a Spotfire Server to receive the full software deployment from the server.

After the update, there is a folder on disk corresponding to each package in the server side deployment. The folder is referred to as a module, a name that should not be confused with the .Net module concept. Each module contains all files included in the package and one module.xml file defining the module and specifying its metadata. Referring to C:\Program Files (x86)\TIBCO\Spotfire\2.2, two key modules of the application are laid out as follows:

Spotfire.Dxp.exe
Spotfire.Dxp.exe.config
